you can call him whatever you want but to be a junior or a second, third, etc, the name must all be the same. first middle and last
My baby boy will have my first name but a DIFFERENT middle name...Can he be named "Jr"??
I named my son the same, with my dad's middle name. (same initial as mine) He is techinically a John Jr. but he'll never be a II or III etc. because of the middle name.
But he's yours, so you can call him whatever you want. Report Abuse
Reply:No. In order for the "jr" to be placed at the end of a name, it must be EXACTLY the same as the father's name.
Reply:You can name your child whatever you like so yes he can still be a Jr. I would think.
Reply:U know the great thing about being a parent: He'll be yours and you can call him whatever you want. My son has his father's first name and his uncle's middle name. I call him BJ. He's not a junior and people always want to know what the the J stands for and I say "Just because".
Call your son a name you love cause you will love him and if Junior is it, then GO FOR IT!!!!
Reply:Not technically, no. You can call him "the Second" or "II".
Reply:I think you have to have the same excact name. I dont know what Im having yet but if its a boy Im doing the same as you. Same firts name as his dad with a different middle name and I wasnt going to add Jr cuz the names wouldnt technically be the same.
Reply:i dont think so because i wanted to name my baby boy la'Darius and his daddy name Darius the have the same middle and last name but it didnt work out
Reply:Naming a child Junior or using the Roman Numerals to designate him the second is reserved for sons with the same name as their father.
You could call him Junior if you so chose, but that would not be his legal name.
EDITED TO CORRECT MYSELF: You could name him Junior, even with a different middle name than yours, but traditionally that is not what you would name him.
Reply:give him his own 1st name %26amp; dont make him a jr either, get over yourself
Reply:you are the parent you can name him whatever you wish.... I think whatever you name him will be a great choice
Reply:Technically I think the names have to be exactly the same to add Jr... But that doesn't mean you can't call him Jr. My son doesn't have a Jr. in his name... and has nada to do with his bio "father" but for some reason my stepfather call him Jr all the time. Likes it's just a nick name my stepfather has for him.
Reply:yea u can choose anything you want its your baby
Reply:No he can not! The reason is because they have to have the same last, middle and first!
Reply:eww y?
