Do you ever stereotype people by their first name?

Stephanies' always hate me, Amandas' always steal my boyfriend, Kendras' are always fat, Brians' always diss me, Joes' are always gluttons. no offense to anyone. is it just me who thinks this way?

Do you ever stereotype people by their first name?
i try not to but i usually find similar characteristics between people who share names. up to this point, i've ended up hating angelicas', kevins' weird me out, and stevens' are the guys that i seem to always get along with :D
Reply:Nope. When i hear a person's name i try and think of what they might look like. But i dont judge their personality based on my past experiences with people of similar names.
Reply:lol kno im sure alot of people think liek this.but its not good. i mean lets sayy soemone names is kendra..kendra did not pick her name, her parents did, so it doe snot mean she is fat because of her name.
Reply:Yes I stereotype peoples' names forgetting that they're not the only ones on Earth with their name. I think I just always think of that one thing that person does or did when that name is mentioned
Reply:people that use two names like Tommy Ray or Tammy Sue or John Thomas are usually southern. Southern people (like me) most often give their child at least two names if not three and these days they are called by the first two names. I say Yep, southern! ps I use one name.
Reply:I do it all the time. Alan's are either skinney white kids or asians.

Vincents are asian.

I cant remeber the other ones...:/

Yea so mostly I associate names with race...
Reply:no, but if I dont like someone I just call them dumb@$$
Reply:The first or first two people you meet by that name can become who you think of when you hear of that name later on in life. For example, if someone says the name Sam, I will immediately think red hair because my friend I've known all my life is Sam and has red hair. It's not an INTENTIONAL stereotype, it's just what you have become used to of the name. Like a definition kind of.
