Also, I know you don't want opinions on the first name (I like it though), but I would say this:


If someone sees "Lara" on paper they will automatically pronounce it as Lar-rah. It's completely up to you if you want it to be pronounced "Lair-ah", but perhaps consider another spelling if you want this to actually go through. It's such a well known spelling that by the time she's at school her teachers will read "Lara" on the register and not even question it. You and her close family could end up being the only ones calling her "Lair-ah".
