What do many afro-americans use the first name Washington?

I mean, George Washington believed in freedom and all that but I understand he even had slaves.

Why was George Washington Carver named after him? And are the rest named after the president washington or mr. Carver?

Now, Thomas Paine was different. He was one of the founding fathers against slavery. I believe it was said that he even endorsed completely liberating afroamericans.

Why are more people not named after him.

What do many afro-americans use the first name Washington?
I don't know any black people named Washington besides George Washington Carver.
Reply:Lot's of black Christians have slave mentalities
Reply:The reason that so many African Americans are named Washington and other names of white people from that century is, because when Africans were stolen from their native land they were striped of the culture, language, everything that made them human including their names... So years later when they were finally released from captivity they took on the names of their former slave masters... Brown, Jackson, Washington, ect.. Their true identity was stolen and replaced.. and the devastaing effects are still present today.
Reply:Because Georgie made such an impact on American-Africans,

m-brother. Another thing, you ought to put America FIRST,

then the nationality, BE proud y'all is an American.

Why people forget that is like forgetting how to walk upright %26amp;

chew gum at the same time! Slavery was always wrong,
